According to success expert, Brian Tracy, “Your ability to communicate effectively with others will do more to make you successful than any other skill that you can develop.”
That is powerful stuff. I, probably like you, don’t always clarify my communication as much as I would like. Perhaps I say something I don’t mean, or my message confuses my listener.
How to improve?
It’s not easy to capture your communication and then draw back and observe. But mindfulness asks us to reflect. That makes the process of improving your communication that much more doable.
I’m trying to take a moment to reflect after my time communicating with others. How can I improve? What would I do differently next time? Plowing forward without reflection is costly.
