While the weather permits, take your work outside.
I had a meeting last week and the participants chose to meet outside. It felt amazing to be out in the fresh air and sunshine and, boy, the wonders it did for everyone’s disposition. We accomplished more than we ever had in past meetings.
And guess what? No distractions.
It was a very mindful meeting.
No one pulled out a cell phone or checked their laptop. (Probably partly due to the sun’s glare.)
Still, we turned a scheduled 60-minute meeting into 30 productive minutes and had plenty of time left over for a brisk walk.
Talk about mindfulness.
Personal Challenge: Try taking your work outside, even if it’s just for a half hour.
